Advocacy, Awareness & Education
My involvement in the community
I value and love this community and feel inspired to spread a message of hope that is accessible outside the walls of my office. If Iām not enjoying the Boise Foothills with my husband and my pup, you can find me volunteering, researching, or presenting at an awareness or advocacy event.
Research
With a firm belief in providing evidence-based practices and care to my clients, I find it most effective to stay abreast the latest research topics by working directly with my colleagues at The Body Image Lab in the Department of Psychological Science at Boise State. With Mary Pritchard, PhD, and several undergraduate and graduate students, I have worked on various projects surrounding athletes, temperament, and recovery outcomes in eating disorders.
Advocacy
I find it my duty as a clinician to advocate for eating disorder care related policy in the local and state government. I have had the honor to work closely with Representative John McCrostie to pass HCR-38 to honor Eating Disorders Awareness Week in the state of Idaho.
Presentations
I aim to impact a larger audience through presentations and speaking engagements. I have presented research projects, trainings, lectures, and motivational speeches in various settings on local and international levels.
Mentorship and Volunteer Work
I value education, teaching, and training and have mentored high school and college students in numerous projects. In the greater Idaho community, I serve as a Disaster Mental Health Volunteer for the American Red Cross.
